The Managing Director/CEO of the North-West Development Commission (NWDC), Prof. Shehu Abdullahi Maaji , has lauded the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) as a benchmark for regional development during a historic courtesy visit to NEDC’s Liaison Office in Abuja. Prof. Ma’aji met with his NEDC counterpart, MD/CEO Mohammed G. Alkali, to formalize a partnership aimed at fostering cross-regional collaboration for sustainable growth.

In his remarks, Prof. Ma’aji praised the NEDC’s transformative impact in rebuilding the North-East after years of devastation caused by insurgency, stating.

 

He emphasized the NWDC’s commitment to leveraging the NEDC’s proven frameworks to address developmental challenges in the North-West, particularly in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.

MD Alkali welcomed the NWDC delegation, reaffirming the NEDC’s readiness to support its sister commission through technical assistance and joint initiatives. Both parties pledged to prioritize inter-regional projects that align with national development.
