The visit was part of the commission’s ongoing engagements with key stakeholders in the region to foster collaboration and accelerate the implementation of its mandate.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Lawan Isma’ila Abdullahi Yakawada, expressed his deep connection with Zamfara State and commended the governor for his dedication to addressing the state’s developmental challenges.
“We are here for a courtesy visit to get acquainted with your administration and to reaffirm our commitment to working closely with Zamfara State. I told my colleagues that coming to Zamfara is like coming home because of the strong relationships we have built here over the years.
“This commission is your baby, Your Excellency. Fortunately, the Northwest is the largest geopolitical zone in the country, and the challenges before us are vast.
We have developed a 10-year strategic development plan to address these challenges comprehensively, ensuring sustainable growth and development across the North West region.”
Alhaji Yakawada assured Governor Lawal of the commission’s readiness to collaborate in addressing critical issues such as insecurity, poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, and ecological concerns.
